In 2025, five teenagers launched Pandora's Ink, a digital magazine that believes in the power of creativity to bring people together in a divided world. Their vision, creativity, and dedication transformed into a thriving online magazine for young people worldwide to share their work. Their inspiration is now what drives new editorial teams every summer.

Hi! I’m Aaron,
I am Aaron Cheng and I am part of the editorial team at Pandora’s Ink. With a love for arts and writing, I was able to quickly orient myself into an editorial team this summer. Before this I had no experience of working in an editorial team of a literary magazine. However, Pandora’s Ink gave me a new perspective to the world where art and writing was promoted and nobody would say no to your ideas. This was what made this position so special to me as it gave myself a space to freely express my ideas and embrace who I am without the conventional chains that bound me in modern society. When Ink was spilled on my table, hope rose through my words.
Hi! I’m Dino,
My name is Dino, and I’m a 13-year-old middle school student at BCIS in Beijing, China. I enjoy playing squash, badminton, soccer, and the guitar, as well as programming and creating original music. I’m an outgoing person who loves meeting new people and connecting with others. Whether through sports, creativity, or conversation, I thrive in social settings and enjoy building friendships wherever I go.
Creativity plays a big role in who I am. Whether it’s composing music, building an app, or writing a story, I see creativity as both problem-solving and self-expression. It’s not just about producing something new, but about imagining what could be and then having the courage to bring it to life. To me, creativity means looking at a blank space and seeing possibilities.
That belief inspired me to help launch Pandora’s Ink. To me, Pandora’s Ink isn’t just a publication. It’s a platform where people like me, young, curious, and passionate, can share our voices and be heard. We want to remind others that even in difficult times, creativity is a powerful force. It gives us the ability to reflect, to question, to comfort, and to build something meaningful.

and I’m a high school student from Beijing, China.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity of being an editor for Pandora’s Ink. I have always loved storytelling; it has the ability to offer insight into different perspectives and bring people closer through shared experiences. This literary magazine does exactly that, giving young writers a platform to express their voices and connect with readers of various backgrounds. Outside of editing, I enjoy watching movies and spending time with friends.
Hi! I’m Vivian,
I was born in Beijing but grew up mind-suspended between different worlds where cultural narratives ran in parallel. That duality, both gift and tension, shaped my earliest sense of self. I have learned that belonging is rarely fixed, requiring us to constantly adapt to the ever-changing and rigid aspects of reality. The majority of people are resigned to that. Creative expression strengthened my will to break out. Putting pen to paper is not just to escape the confines of our mundane lives, but to carve meaning to one’s own life narratives emerging from the collisions and harmonies we witness along the way.
What began as refuge has now sharpened into purpose to empower more people to look above and beneath the surface to find what gives life meaning. As Rilke wrote: 'These lands of our wandering, they are you.' To write is to reclaim them: the lost identities that define who we are, the newfound purposes of our destinations, and the voices of humanity’s collective experience that show what equal temper of heroic hearts we are.
